About the Instructor

My dancing career involved competing at several Highland Games, competitions and championships, which led me to compete around the country and to Scotland.  I was also part of a choreography group that won the Canadian Large Group Choreography Championship title 4 times.

Being a competitive highland dancer myself, I have had extensive experience being a student in dance classes.  As a teacher, I understand the importance of making the classes' fun and at the same time bringing challenge into the lessons.  I also value and implement a positive teaching approach to encourage and build confidence in my dancers, simultaneously challenging them to the best of their ability.

My teaching experience includes close to 20 years of teaching all levels of Scottish Highland Dancing.  I also have the highest level of teaching certificate for Scottish Highland Dancing – Fellow Level with the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (B.A.T.D.).  Several of my current students compete several times throughout the year at various Highland Games and competitions throughout Ontario and Canada.
